Forge Openings
The Tabasco One Burner Gas Forge has a 5"wide x 3.5" high opening on the front and a 5"wide x 1.5"high opening in the back. The openings are even with the forge's floor at the bottom, making it easier to pass through longer work pieces.
Front and back forge openings provide an escape path for exhaust gasses, without the need for doors. Propane expands 7X during combustion and must be vented. Forge doors can trap gasses, working against the efficient operation of the burners.
New Forge openings coated for longer life
Vent ridges at forge openings are now coated with ITC-213 and 296-A to reduce wear from hot exhaust gasses. The coating also serves to draw the heat the full length of the forge.
